With My Mom being in musical theater (as well as a dance teacher) and my Grandfather being a musician, the Arts have always been a huge part of my life. From a young age, I was taught to express myself through song and dance. Soon enough, I was onto singing covers and posting them for the world to see. On my 11th Birthday, I was gifted a bright red camera. From there I made little movies with my cousins and friends. As I went into middle school, Film and Video Creation become more and more interesting to me. I remember watching The Shining for the first time right before my freshman year of high school. I felt so creeped out by the whole thing, but so in love with the idea that the director, along with the whole cast and crew made you feel that way. That was their goal.
I started my freshman year at Suncoast Polytech and took the Digital Video Production program at Suncoast Technical College as my elective. That was one of the best decisions of my life. Through the Program I became so attached to the role of First Assistant Director. From the second I took the role I knew it was an amazing fit. As the year went on, I found myself not only ADing every project but loving every second. I love following a project start to finish through production ensuring all aspects of the set are running smoothly and efficiently. As society continues to grow, I find myself so amazed at the support for the LGBT community in this industry. Being Transgender myself, I hope to show others that it's okay to be who you are. You can do anything! Reach for the stars! I think that's one of my biggest career goals is to lead as an example and show that you should follow your dreams no matter what! Now I'm majoring in Business at SCF in the fall and focusing on giving my all to film. With all of my experience and my eagerness to learn, I hope to continue my journey into the film world in anyway I can. |
